MIKE WATERS
3:15PM
Having spent the past 10-years working in the corporate world it came as a complete shock to his colleagues, friends and family when Mike Waters casually revealed he’d secretly been writing songs in his bedroom…. Incredible songs. The first ‘demo’ he showed people quickly raced to be the number one most-played track on triple j Unearthed and pricked the interested ears of music industry types both locally and internationally. Since then he’s been busy writing more material and playing gigs around Melbourne in the lead-up to his debut release due out May 2015. |
Be prepared to hear a lot more about the incredibly talented and very humble Mike Waters in the coming months.

JUNIOR UNDER THE MOON
5:15PM
Junior Under The Moon began as a musical diary, written from the soul of Jay Bala. After providing lead vocals for Post Hardcore/Scremo band, I Explode Like, he decided it was time to dial down the screaming and develop his song writing. Jay retreated into a run-down house in Footscray, and spent a year writing a collection of pop tunes which were melodic and bruised, but had a wicked sense of dark humour. It started as a solo project, but Jay wanted help developing the sound, so recruited Rob Heneghan, (songwriter and producer for Bird Box) who added a fresh edge to the songs. |
The two immediately became brothers as they performed and recorded as a duo throughout 2013.
Junior Under The Moon expanded the family again in 2014 by adding members Lee Tomholt (pop princess), Duncan Stephens (drummer and sound engineer) and Ev Smith (bassist for The Kite Machine).
The band will be releasing their debut E.P titled "My Head At 3am" in April 2015.

THE SWEETS
6:15PM
The Sweets serve up a big bowl of punchy, reverb soaked alternate rock that’s just like Nonna used to make, and it’s bound to get your feet tapping and your head nodding as you struggle to fight off the urge to break down into an all out movement frenzy. WEBLINKS https://soundcloud.com/the-sweets |
THE PEEKS
7:15PM
Led by songsmith Fraser Henry, The Peeks are a folk-rock band from the sleepy Melbourne suburb of Williamstown. With a sound that is constantly evolving, the group tap into a studied pool of influences - from Fleet Foxes and Crowded House, to Jake Bugg and Oasis - and boast a live show that is visceral at one moment and delicate the next. Having formed in late 2012, Henry (vocals, guitar), Hudson (drums), and Connolly (bass, keys), have already set foot on some of Melbourne’s most iconic stages (Cherry Bar, Ding Dong Lounge, The Workers Club), and toured Sydney (Oxford Art Factory), Brisbane (Ric’s Bar) & Adelaide (The Emily Rose Hotel). With new releases on the horizon, The Peeks are one to watch. |
